Chapter Five

"What the fuck are you wearing," Bennett asked Foster, as we climbed in the booth seat across from him and Thompsyn.

I snickered, making Foster glare at both of us.

He did look ridiculous, though. We had gotten up early enough after only two and a half hours of sleep to run to his hotel room and get him some more clothes, but someone––I'm not saying it was me––couldn't keep their hands to themselves, and we ended up rubbing off on each other again.

Thankfully, we were smart enough this time to shower separately, but by the time we were done with all that, it was almost time to meet the leopard and his bear.

I'd had to run over to Ronny's and steal a pair of sweats out of his basket on the back porch, and dig out my biggest shirt, because his had still been in the floor and gotten walked on by wet feet more than once in the three showers we'd taken since he'd showed up.

He was wearing baggy, low hanging sweatpants, my t-shirt that, even two sizes too big on me, fit him like a smedium, and his black, combat boots.

"I didn't have time to go back to my room." Throwing a hand up before Bennett could say more, he said, "Before you say something that annoys me enough to say something that pisses your mate off and gets me mauled, I need a favor."

"Well, when you put it like that, how can I help you, sunshine?"

"If it makes a difference, you'd be helping Burke too. I'm sure you like him." He looked over at me with a bit of pride in his eyes and my heart melted. "Everyone does."

"Oh my gawd. You're actually a sap." Bennett snickered, and Thompsyn, who usually didn't smile unless it had to do with his mate, licked his teeth, clearly trying not to laugh.

"Only for my mate," he said, facing Thompsyn again. "I need your tracking skills. The man who attacked my mate was using a fake name, and hasn't been seen since the day Burke left school."

Gasping, I turned to see Foster cringe. "Sorry, baby. I was planning on telling you once I found had a plan in action."

"Do you think he'll come for me? Could he find me?" I looked around, almost expecting to see his all too familiar face, staring creepily at me from one of the booths in the back corner.

Just like old times.

Reaching over, Foster pulled my hand into his and up to his mouth, placing a kiss on my knuckles. "If he is friends with you on social media, and knows about your brother, there is a chance he knows where he is, and therefore you are."

"What's your plan?" Thompsyn asked seriously. He leaned forward on his elbows, making the table creak under his weight.

"The FBI took DNA samples and his student ID so they could run some facial recognition. But I was thinking maybe you could go to his house and sniff him out. If the trail isn't too old, maybe we can see if he went to the airport.
